Course Overview

The Foundation in Arts (Fashion Design) at City University Malaysia is the creative “Bootcamp” for aspiring designers. It is the crucial year where you transition from just liking fashion to actually creating it. Unlike a general art course, this program is hands-on studio training. You won’t just study theory; you will spend your time mastering the Three Pillars of Fashion: Fashion Illustration (drawing your ideas), Pattern Making (technical blueprints for clothes), and Garment Construction (sewing and manufacturing). The ultimate goal of this year is to help you build a killer Design Portfolio—your “passport” into the Bachelor of Fashion Design program.
