Course Overview
The Bachelor of Applied Psychology (Hons) at City University Malaysia is the “Human Behavior Specialist” degree. Unlike theoretical psychology, this “Applied” program focuses on taking the science of the mind out of the textbook and into the real world to solve actual human problems. This program is built on Human Development and Social Impact. You will move beyond just studying brain functions to master Counseling Techniques, Leadership Psychology, and Community Engagement. A major highlight of this degree is its Interdisciplinary Approach, where you learn to apply psychology across different fields—like business, education, and healthcare—specifically within the “multicultural context” of Malaysia. By participating in Community-Based Research, you gain the hands-on skills needed to support mental well-being and social change, preparing you for a career as a Behavioral Consultant, Counseling Assistant, or Human Resources Specialist.
