The Translation and Interpretation programme provides both theoretical knowledge and practical training in translation and interpreting, introducing students to key areas such as translation theories, interpreting methods, editing, computer-assisted translation, subtitling, localization, and professional ethics, while also emphasizing cultural understanding in language use. The programme aims to produce graduates who can apply translation and interpretation skills effectively in real-world situations, including consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, with strong proficiency in Malay, English, and other languages. Graduates are prepared to work in various local and international industries and organizations, serving as language and cultural intermediaries in fields such as business, politics, and social affairs, while maintaining a high level of professionalism in delivering accurate and ethical language services.
