Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Tasheel collects when you use our platform to apply to study in Malaysia, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to provide our advisory and application services.
1. Information we collect
Account details you give us — your name, email address, phone number, nationality and preferred language — and the password you set (which we store only in a securely hashed form, never in plain text).
Application information — the universities, programmes or language centres you are interested in, the documents you upload (such as passports, transcripts and certificates), and the notes and messages exchanged with your advisor.
Billing information — the bills issued to you and the payment proofs you upload. We do not store full card numbers; payments are made by bank transfer using the details shown on each bill.
Technical information — basic data such as your approximate location, device and log information that is created automatically when you use the site, used to keep the service secure and working.
2. How we use your information
To create and manage your account, to prepare and submit your applications, to communicate with you about your application and visa, to issue and confirm bills, to provide support, to keep the platform secure, and to meet our legal obligations.
We send you transactional emails (such as verification, application and visa updates, bills and reminders) in the language you chose. You can change that language at any time in your account settings.
3. Who we share it with
Educational institutions — when you ask us to apply on your behalf, we share the relevant parts of your application and documents with the university, college or language centre you selected, so they can assess it.
Service providers — trusted companies that host our systems, send our email, and process necessary operations on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect your data.
Authorities — where we are required to by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. How we store and protect your data
Your data is stored on reputable cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorised staff. Sensitive content such as private messages is encrypted, passwords are hashed, and documents are served only through authenticated, access-controlled links — never as public URLs.
While no system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the services and to comply with legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
You can access and update most of your information directly in your account settings. You may also ask us to correct or delete your personal data, or to provide a copy of it. To make a request, contact us through the Contact page.
If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email; this does not affect essential service emails about your applications.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work — for example to keep you signed in and to remember your language. We do not use them to track you across other websites.
8. Children
Our services are intended for prospective students. If you are under the age required to consent in your country, please use Tasheel with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change we will take reasonable steps to inform you, and the “last updated” date above will change.
10. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please reach out through the Contact page and our team will respond.
